Original
documents
The Adolf-Lorenz-Society has made it its duty, as well as preserving the
historical Lorenz surgery, to arrange for an archive.
In the course of creating the Lorenz surgery into a museum (1995-1997),
the Lorenz-Archive was created, in which a number of original documents
from both great orthopaedists are kept. Among other things there are Adolf
Lorenz's grammar school reports and his A-Level Diploma, his letter of appointment,
registration form, newspaper cuttings, Adolf Lorenz's handwritten and typed
poetry and prose, manuscripts of his autobiographic novel "I was
allowed to help" as well as scientific publications, honorary member
diploma and honours diploma.
Apart from these documents there are many references to other archives (ÄStA/AVA,
ÖStA/KA, University Archive Vienna, private collection of Dr. Florian
Lorenz, private collection of Agnes von Cranach-Lorenz) and photocopies
of documents from diverse archives.
The archive is at the moment being systematically ordered and is only available
for consultation - respecting the data protection - by researchers, graduates
and medical students after prior consent from the Adolf-Lorenz-Society.
Inquiries regarding the above are to be made in writing to the Chairman
of the Adolf-Lorenz-Society, Univ.Prof.Dr. Stefan Nehrer,
c/o Rathausstraße 21 Top 9, 1010 Vienna
